Hey you coming to church Sunday?! I'm speaking!

Hi family and friends! 🙃
Monday was a normal pday. Emailed, laundry, grocery store (btw, we
don't even have a grocery store in our area so we have to get
permission to go lol), car washed.

Tuesday we put our car into the shop in the morning. We went on
exchanges with the sister training leaders. Sister Blake went to Dover
with Sister Jackson. I stayed here with Sister Beard. It was fun but
we had to walk. Luckily my mom sent me some awesome shoes from China!
One of the elders in my district said to me "Sister Gronning, how
comfortable are those shoes?" I said "they are so comfy! They are from
China!" 😂
We had a lesson with Linda Harms. We took a member with us and she
grove us. We taught the restoration. She got off topic a lot but we
did a good job tying it all back to the lesson. She said she will not
come to church because people there have offended her..

Wednesday we met with Tanya. Talked about the importance of sacrament,
praying, reading the Book of Mormon.
Went over to the Oliver's, less active members, and got to know them
better. They came to church on Sunday 🙂

Thursday was district meeting in the morning. It was so good. The
Spanish elders drove us.
We went over to Tanya's again. She is going through a lot right now so
we went over to comfort her.
We ate dinner at Applebee's with a member. I got Mac n cheese with
bacon and honey bbq chicken in it. So good.
That night we had MCM. Found out that one of our zone leaders was
going home for surgery and should be back in 6-9 weeks. He left Sunday
morning. Sad.

Friday we had a lesson with the Searls. Talked about baptisms for the
dead and the temple.
Ate dinner at the Hughes. We had baked potatoes with chili on it. I
actually enjoyed it lol.
We taught the restoration to Brooke. She had a lot of questions about
our church. Cute lady.
We got our car back on Friday!! Yay😃

Saturday we had a lesson with Linda Limprun and Danielle. Talked about
ponderizing scriptures. Met the Urrunaga's. A part member family and
less active. The wife said she has been talking about wanting to come
back to church.
We met a lady named Grace. Super sweet old lady. She is lonely but
says she is well taken care of and enjoys life. She said she has
nothing to complain about.
Ate dinner at Sister Mcniels.

Sunday was a great Sunday! We had a missionary sacrament meeting. I
spoke, Elder Drake  spoke, and our warm mission leader spoke. Elder
Hunt said the opening prayer and Sister Blake said the closing prayer.
We handed out missionary bookmarks before sacrament started. I read my
dads story about how he met my mom and then I read my moms conversion
story in her own words. I also read Lainys testimony. Afterwards
everyone came up to me and said it was an amazing talk and they loved
the stories ☺️
We went over and helped Ashley with her math homework.. I'm glad
Sister Blake knows how to do math because I hate math 😂
Had dinner with the Johnsons and had a lesson with a friend of theirs
who is not a member. It was awesome. She had a lot of questions. Some
I did not have the answers too 😬
She was super nice.

Today we are going to the mall! Going to finally look for some jeans
that fit me lol. We are taking Sister Shorten with us. I'm excited!
Tonight another member is going to fix some of our skirts and we are
going to make her dinner 😋

I hope everyone had a great week. It's almost my 3 month mark and my
birthday!! Yay 😃

Love you all!!!

Interviews! Miracles!

Hi family and friends!
Get ready for a long email!!
Monday we did laundry, went to the store, got our car washed, all
normal pday stuff. Then chilled in our apartment and I took a nap 😊
then we ate dinner at the Kindermans. Later that night we went to the
Bensons, a recent converts house, with some sisters in our ward. Sweet
lady. We shared a conference talk with her.
Tuesday Sister Limprun texted us and said Bea needed us to come over
and talk to her. She is going through a lot right now in her family.
Afterwards we tried to visit some people. We ate dinner at the
Shortens. Had a lesson with Linda Harms and she pretty much just
vented to us for like 30 min about drama her and her best friend are
going through. She's 60.....
Wednesday we did service at the food bank, helped put food in bags for
children. It was fun. We tried to contact people the whole day because
Tanya and Amora canceled our lesson. We ate dinner at our apartment.
We went out after that and got lost and ended up way out of our
area..... Oops. Sister Blake put in the wrong address lol. We find our
way back though eventually 😂 that night we stopped by Martha's and
talked to her about church and she said it was so calm and quiet lol.
She was also questioning why we don't teach out of the bible more.. We
explained that the lessons being taught at church do have bible
references but the teachers just teach differently then one another.
We stopped by the Oliver's, less active members. They have a son who
served in the Nevada Las Vegas mission and actually served in
Henderson! In 2004. They were super friendly.
Thursday was zone training! It was awesome! Talked about baptism and
preparing our investigators for the interview. Talked about finding
people, repentance, loving everyone. It was a really good training by
the Zone Leaders.
Thursday we saw a lot of miracles! We were stopping by this potential
investigator and they weren't home so we started walking away and as
we were walking out the door, this kid and his dad were walking
through the door and we stopped and talked to him about eternal
families and he said he is trying to get closer to his family. We gave
him a temple card and he seemed super interested in going to the open
house and bringing his family to church (sadly they did not come..)
We went to stop by a part member family and less active and we saw
this lady outside and we complimented her pants and she asked if we
were from the Mormon church and we said yes and asked how she knew us
and she said her grandmother or her mom used to take her when she was
a child then started going to the Catholic Church and she didn't know
why.. We talked about the temple. Sadly didn't come to church on
Sunday.. She was a super sweet lady! I love when God puts people in
our paths! We need to talk to everyone! We ended the night with
missionary correlation meeting.
Friday we did some weekly planning. We helped Bishop and his wife put
together bookmarks to pass out before or after sacrament next Sunday
for our missionary Sunday! I am speaking! Ahhh.
We had 3 lessons set up on Friday and all of a sudden they all
cancelled at the same time... Even our bible referral said she no
longer wanted a free bible.... Well, alrighty then.. We were bummed.
We just went out and tried to contact people. Figured out someone
doesn't live here anymore. Found a Spanish girl for the Spanish
elders. Stopped by Tanya and Amora. They are reading a little bit out
of the Book of Mormon! We made them a miracle calendar and if they get
40/50 points, we promised them they will receive huge blessings and
promised Amora we will bake her brownies 😊 they want to be baptized!
But sadly they slept through their alarm and didn't go to church. We
ate dinner at the Johns. They teach the byu pathway program and
institute classes.
Saturday we had interviews with president! My first real interview
with him and my last! We are getting a new president in June or July!
I forget.. President and Sister Anderson are so sweet. I told Pres
that some of the members are saying they've seen me change since I
first got here. They've all been saying that when I first got here, I
didn't talk at all and now I talk a lot! Haha! Pres was like "oh yes!
I've seen a huge difference in you!" 😂 we stopped by some less
actives and found out that some of them have moved. Ate dinner at
sister Owens with her, Michelle, and Ashley. Love that family.
Sunday sadly no investigators came to church .. But it was a good
Sunday though! Stopped by Tanya's after church and went over the
lesson we had in Sunday school which was on repentance. Went pretty
well. Might have to change her date to June.
I hope everyone had a great week. Thanks for the emails :)
Love you all!

Philly! Transfers! Car problems! Snow!!

Hi everyone :D
This week was super long.
Monday was Sister Blakes birthday and we went to philly! We saw the
temple!! It is so pretty. We ate Philly cheesesteaks! I got mine with
cheese wiz and no onions :)
Tuesday transfers happened! Funny story, so Sister Rash got double
into the Wilmington 1st ward which isn't far at all, and in our stake.
She got put into the Wilmington District, still in our zone. The zone
leaders called and told us some info about transfers and then said
"Sister Blake and Sister Gronning, you probably already heard but you
two are now in the Wilmington District" we were both like "wait what?!
We did not know that!" Crazy right?! So now on Thursdays for district
meetings, we go to a different building and in the same district as
Sister Rash still! So weird and crazy! I will miss my old district but
this one is good too. Really good district leader. He's new at being
the district leader and is doing a great job so far. Me and sister
Blake were saying how we feel like we got transferred but we lost a
companion. It kinda feels weird with two. It feels like something is
missing. But it's been fun too. Also on Tuesday I got to see Sister
Payne! :)
Wednesday we cleaned Sister Kautz new house again. Super deep
cleaning. I'm gonna be a clean freak when I get home (you are welcome
mom) ;)
That night we went over to Sister Owens for her birthday and ate
dinner and pie and a cookie cake :)
We had a lesson with Linda and she said she wanted to start going back
to her church... Somehow we will get her to ours... Lol.
Thursday was district meeting with the new district!
Had a lesson with Sister Limprun and Danielle. Showed them the talk
from President Monson and talked about faith and choices. They said
they would come to church on Sunday. (Sister Limprun went and so did
Danielle's husband, Matt. Danielle was not feeling well)
Had a lesson with Amanda and talked about her baptism and the Holy
Ghost. She said she has to move her date to May 14th. She couldn't
come to church on Sunday because she went out of town. We helped
another lady in our ward clean her house. She just had foot surgery
and can't get around very well. And then Thursday night we went to
missionary correlation meeting with the ward mission leader and the
elders. Oh, we got a new elder. Elder Mackay got transferred and we
got Elder Drake from Colorado.
Friday was weekly planning day! We had to take our car into the shop
again to get some scratches checked out (we don't know where they came
from) they gave us a discount and told us to bring it back on the 19th
and it will be in the shop for like 3 days..
We had a good lesson with the Searls (less active members) talked
about General Conference and the temple. The wife has gone through but
the husband has not. They really want to be sealed in the temple. The
husband wants to do baptisms for the dead and learn more about the
temple. The husband came to church on Sunday but the wife did not.
Had a lesson with the Barones (Amanda and Michael, part member family.
Michael is less active) we took the Shortens with us and they really
bonded! They have a lot of the same interests. We talked about faith.
The husband wants to come back to church and baptize his wife! They
sadly couldn't come to church because they were going out of town.
Same for next Sunday :p
Saturday we helped the Kautz move. Taking boxes and everything out to
the truck. In the snow!! And then it was raining!! Yuck. We were all
soaked.
Then we tried to contact some people and literally no one was home all
day. We think everyone was sleeping because of the crappy weather. We
did stop by and talked to Martha. And her son was there who got
baptized when he was little. Had a super awesome lesson with them.
Martha came to church on Sunday with her niece and granddaughter!! It
was awesome.
Sunday was fast and testimony meeting. Really good testimonies from
our ward members. Me and elder drake are giving talks in sacrament on
the 24th (I think) on missionary work. Fun stuff..
Sunday we tried to visit some less actives. We stopped by the Wheelins
and Sister Wheelin said she wants to start coming back to church! We
didn't even bring it up or anything! So awesome. She even said she
wanted to start having us over for dinner sometime!
We stopped by the Alas's which is a part member family. The husband is
not a member. The wife is and she is less active but wants to start
coming to church again too! She was so friendly and gave us snacks
haha. We ate dinner before that so we weren't hungry at all but she
insisted we took something lol. Awesome Sunday.
I hope everyone had a great week. I love you all!

Sister Blake's bday and my district

General Conference! 2 month mark! Transfers!

Hi everyone!!! ❤️
Monday was a chill day in our apartment of emailing and laundry and
sleeping :) we were running low on miles so we couldn't go to the
store. So we just stayed inside! We ate dinner with the cutest family,
they have a 3 year old girl and a 1 year old boy. They have the cutest
story on how they met. I love hearing stories about how people met :)
We taught Linda. She had met with the missionaries in the past and had
a bad experience with it or something? But we took a member with us
and we planned to teach the restoration but the member started
teaching the plan of salvation. So we were like alright! Haha.
Tuesday we had a good lesson with Joseph about the plan of salvation.
We invited him to be baptized on April 30th and he said he can't do
that because of his mom... He is 15 so he has to get written
permission from his mom. So pray that his mom will have a change of
heart and see the light in him! A lot of our set appointments keep
canceling so Tuesday was a hard stressful day. We all had to eat ice
cream lol. That night though we decided to go to this lady's house and
we talked to her a little bit. After that a less active member called
us and told us her daughter or sister or whatever she is, needs us to
come over and talk to her because she is going through a hard time
right now.
Wednesday we walked around and had some lessons with people. A lot of
people said they were interested in watching conference!
Thursday we had our last district meeting of the transfer! One of the
elders is going home and sister rash is getting transferred :( also
one of the elders in our ward is getting transferred too. Thursday we
pretty much just chilled in our apartment and poured out our feelings
to each other. Then had missionary correlation meeting with the ward
mission leader and bus assistant and the elders (ZL's). The ward
mission leader just got a new puppy! It is so cute! It's one of those
wrinkly dogs who get huge! Also his wife died her hair green! It's so
cool.
Friday we did service for Sister Kautz. Deep cleaned her new house.
Then did weekly planning the rest of the day!
Saturday we watched general conference at a members house. It was
awesome! Ate a ton. Took a lot of notes. Got questions answered. Some
of our investigators watched it too!
Sunday we watched the morning session at the church then the afternoon
session at another members house. I loved all the talks about temples
and families :)
Watch conference!!!!
I have been on my mish for 2 months! Crazy. It has gone fast.
Today is sister Blakes birthday and we are going to PHILLY!!!! I am so
excited!! Philly cheese steaks here we come!!! 😃😃
I hope everyone is doing great!! I love you all ☺️
