Sunday Miracle!

Hello everyone!

Wednesday night, we had a lesson scheduled with an investigator named
Emma but when we knocked, her boyfriend answered the door and said it
was not a good time. We had to drop her because we can't get in
contact with her.
We had a little exchange with our Sister Training Leaders from
Wednesday night to Thursday afternoon. Sister Stubben and I stayed
together and Sister Fuelling came with us 😊
We had correlation that night with our ward mission leader.

Thursday we did weekly planning at the church and then Sister Fuelling
and Sister Tovar left πŸ˜•
We went to have a lesson with Everaldo but the people at his house
said he was not home and we called him and he said he was sleeping! He
said Friday would be better.
We went to Berlin and did some finding.
Ate dinner at the Bellante's.
We found Harry Wise. He was a Bible referral. We talked about the Book
of Mormon and we said we would give him one when he comes to church on
Sunday. He was going to come, and we got him a ride and everything but
he was sleeping when the member went to his house..
We stopped by the Medinas and talked to the girls because Sister
Medina was not home.

Friday morning we helped someone move her things into a storage unit.
Her name is Bei Bei and she is friends with a less active.
We had a lesson with Everaldo and Sister Hartman came with us. We read
Alma 40 and talked about the resurrection and the spirit world.
We had lunch with Sister Swanson and her friend and their kids.
We had some lessons fall through but we had some good ones too!
We stopped by Sister Hall's and she told us some good news and that
she would be at church on Sunday!! SHE CAME!!!
We went to Sister Smith's and read 3 Nephi 17.
We had a lesson with Brandon about him knowing for himself and talked
about how he needs to read the Book of Mormon to gain a
witness/testimony that it is true.
We stopped by and talked to Brianna. We shared a video with her. She
came to church too with her cousin!
We had a little lesson with Edwin about church, pray, read. HE
ACTUALLY SAID THE CLOSING PRAYER OUT LOUD! That is a big deal
everyone!!!
We ate dinner at the Trapps. Cute young Peruvian family.
We had a lesson thingy with Roberto and Sister Santiago.

Saturday morning we helped Minwoo move. He is officially gone off to
Utah!! Sad but exciting.
After that, we drove an hour to Crisfield! Our area is huge and we
never have the miles to go over there but this time we did! It was the
first time Sister Stubben has been there since she's been here for 6
months! We visited a ton of less actives. We met a few. They all said
they wish there was a branch out there so they don't have to travel as
far. And everyone wants missionaries over there. It would be really
good if they put missionaries in those areas that we can't really get
to with miles.
Ate dinner at the Wilson's.
Stopped by the Laytons. Pam talked to us for a long time. We shared
"our true identity" with them.

Sunday morning I decided to paint my nails. I haven't had nail polish
on like a whole year!! I decided that the first thing I want to do
when I get home is get a pedicure!! (P.s mom)
Okay, Sunday miracle - we had 8 investigators and 8 less actives at
church!!! It was awesome.
Also, Sister Stubben and I taught Gospel Principles and we did a Book
of Mormon read 3 Nephi 11.
Also, like everyone we visited that day, told us that we both look
nice! It was hilarious. In the car I was like "it's because I painted
my finger nails"πŸ˜‚
We ate dinner at the Johnson's with the Taylors and their friend. It
was a lot of fun and super cute kids!
We had FHE with the Sollars and talked about the "what lack I yet" talk.

Today we are going to Ocean City with the north sisters. It should be
really fun :)

P.S I have the cutest baby nephew in the entire world.

Love,
Sister Gronning

The time I lost my voice 😢🀐😷🀧

Well, hello everyone! I hope everyone is having a great Wednesday
morning! I think it's like 6am or 7am for most of you!  You are all
probably sleeping!

This week our pday changed because we had a mini missionary with us
this weekend!!

Monday the 13th we did some finding in the evening and then I had a
really bad earache and we bought ear drops and Sister Stubben put them
in my ear and it burned so bad that I started crying!! We ended up not
going to the Book of Mormon class and went home.

Tuesday was Valentine's Day! We had District Meeting and our Sister
Training Leaders were there (Sister Fuelling and Sister Tovar) and we
had a potluck afterwards! Sadly we did not take any pictures :( after
DM we went on exchanges. I stayed in Salisbury South with Sister
Garner and Sister Fuelling. We had a lesson set up with Michaels mom
who is not a member but she was not home. She speaks only Spanish.. we
went over to the Laytons and showed them a video called "the sabbath
is a delight" and they really liked it. We had Sister Swanson with us.
We went back to the apartment and did accountability. It was nice
talking to Sister Fuelling again and hearing about Bayview!
We were going to heart attack one of our investigators but when we
pulled up she was sitting right by the window! We were like nope not
doing this! πŸ˜‚
We had a lesson with this guy we met and we went to the address he
said he lived and he doesn't live there πŸ˜‚ so we went to the church
and helped set up for the Valentine's relief society dinner.
We had a lesson with Claire that night and taught her the word of wisdom.

Wednesday, I woke up and I had no voice!! Which is awful when you are
a missionary and you need to talk to people!! That morning we were
going to have a lesson with one of our investigators but she had to
cancel. We exchanged back to our companions at about 12:30. We visited
Sister Bray with Sister Cole.
We had a lesson with Michael. Still trying to get him to come to church.
We had dinner with Sister White at KFC/Taco bell.
Had correlation that night.
Also, my nephew was born on Wednesday!!! And I have to say, he is the
cutest baby I've ever seen! Sister Stubben wants to steal him but I
won't let her!!

Thursday I took a sick day and slept all day (Sister Bills, the
mission nurse, told me to do that!) we went out at 6. We visited the
Laytons with Sister Liggett. We talked about being a peacemaker with
Jay.
We had a lesson with Claire and talked about the baptism interview
questions. She is the cutest thing ever. We talked about modesty for
the law of Chastity lol.

Friday, we had a lesson with Sister Kelley and talked about the
families and temples pamphlet. We had a lesson with Sister Hall. We
talked about her conversion story.
We had a lesson with the Hammonds about keeping the sabbath day holy.
We went to the church for Claire's interview with our District Leader!
Elder Fifita loved her haha.
We had a long lesson with Janice and Elvis. Elvis is crazy. I don't
even know what to say about that lesson πŸ˜‚
We had a lesson with the Bowens. Funny story! I was craving pizza all
day and we get there and they had just ordered pizza and as we were
sitting there, Sister Bowens grandson asked if we are staying for
dinner and Sister Bowen said that it was okay and I got pizza!!!
Our mini missionary came that night! Her name was Sister Smith and she
was so cute and fun!

Saturday was Claire's baptism!!
We had some lessons cancel throughout the day but we also had some good ones.
We actually had a lesson with Roberto who speaks Spanish and Sister
Santiago helped translate haha.
We had a lesson with Sister Kahler. We talked about faith and her past beliefs.
We met this guy named Chris and he is very interesting haha. We had a
long conversation with him.
We had dinner with the Castellanos.
We showed them the drill app and duolingo to help them learn English!
We met Marlene at saintamenes house and she speaks Creole so we used
the drill app and google translate to communicate.
We went to the Laytons again and talked about hope. Eddie was actually
in the kitchen the whole time, listening!

Sunday we had church and we had a ysa lunch afterwards.
We had a lesson with Megan and our mini missionary taught her the
whole restoration! It was awesome.
We met Ketarra and Keirra Clark and shared a verse in the Book of
Mormon with them. They to,d us their step dad and grandpa used to read
from the Book of Mormon all the time!
We ate dinner with Brother Kim, Minwoo, and his brother. At first
there was no women there and it was super awkward and then Brother Kim
invited the Sollars so we could stay haha.
Lessons cancelled.
We had a lesson with Sister Hallyburton. We talked about faith.

Monday we had a lesson with Everaldo and it was kinda all over the place haha.
We had a lesson with Edwin. We talked about praying out loud and we
showed him the mountains to climb video.
We had a lesson with Sister Santiago and talked about praying and church.
We had an awesome visit with the Franco's! Their whole family was
home! Dad is a less active member, mom is not a member, and they have
two girls- 3 and 1. We talked about the temple and we talked about
praying.
Some lessons cancelled.
Ate dinner at the Sollars. Hawaiian haystacks.
Went to the Book of Mormon class and it was all of us missionaries and Minwoo πŸ˜‚
Our mini missionaries got picked up Monday night :(

Tuesday we had District Meeting.
We found 5 new investigators that day!!
3 were the petersons and they were former investigators that we
stopped by and had a little lesson with. The 7 year old said that he
has to wait till June to get baptized!
We had a lesson with Sister Kahler and we watched Mountains to climb
and talked about a bunch of things.
Had a lesson with Michael. Started off by teaching the restoration and
then it went all over the place but still good haha.
2 new investigators were shaunna and her son makai. Talked about our
church and they are interested!
Ate dinner at Moes. It is now Sister Stubbens favorite place!
Had a lesson with Claire about service and teaching and learning and
missionary work.

It has been a long week and I hope this cold sickness thing goes away!
This email seemed really long and I didn't even put a lot of detailed
stuff in it lol.

I hope you all have a great day! Love you all!

Love,
Sister Gronning

"It says that Sister Stubben is the designated driver"

Hello family, friends, missionaries!
Happy Valentine's Day tomorrow ❤️πŸ’–

Monday night we ate dinner with the Wilsons. The wife is a member and
the husband is not. He is hilarious!! And then we had the Book of
Mormon class!

Tuesday we drove to Newark, Delaware (my first area) for Zone
Conference. We had to get there at like 7:45 to get our cars
inspected. One of our Zone Leaders was looking at the paper to check
our car and he said "oh that's weird" and I kept saying over and over
"what's weird? What does it say? Tell us!" And then finally I just
took it from him and it said "designated driver: Sister Stubben"
whaaaaaat πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ€”πŸ€” I was driving this entire time hahahaha. So we
asked the Assistants and they told us to take to the vehicle
coordinator, Elder Sessions. He said to email him and he'll check when
he gets back to the office. Well, Sister Stubben is now driving lol!
Zone Conference was great as usual! It was my Zone plus Wilmington
zone and Cherry Hill Zone! I got to see my old companions - Sister
Nielson and Sister Fuelling :)
Oh and out of those three zones there are three missionaries going
home at the end of this transfer and they are all from my zone! Kinda
funny, but sad.
Side note, the Assistants just called to check if Sister Stubben is
driving now .. πŸ˜‚
That night we had a lesson with Claire about tithing and fasting,
obedience, and obeying and honoring the Law.

Wednesday we taught Julia the Plan of Salvation. She wants to be
baptized but doesn't want to set a date until she knows our message is
true.
We met Nate when we were looking for someone else. We showed him the
Because of Him video. We gave him a restoration pamphlet.
We were going to have a lesson with Yves (Eve) but she didn't answer the door.
We had a lesson with Paulette. She speaks Creole and a little bit of
English. We used google translate and an app called Drill that has all
of the lessons in different languages! It was way cool. We had Sister
Slusher with us and she was awesome :)
We stopped by and had a lesson with Michael. We read Alma 32 with him
and talked about faith. He knows he needs to come to church, he just
won't come :(
We went to Lambardis for dinner.
We went to the church and helped Megan get started on her family history.
And then we had our correlation meeting!

Thursday, weekly planned.
We had a lesson with Everaldo and it went so long!! We taught the
restoration and the Plan of Salvation a little bit. I had him read the
first vision instead of me reciting it and it was super cool. I want
to do that more often :) we invited him to read Moroni 7. He was going
to come to church on Sunday but he didn't come.
We contacted a referral from a member and shared a video with her
because she was getting ready to leave.
We met with Linda and taught her the restoration. We gave her a
restoration pamphlet and a Book of Mormon.
Ate dinner at the Bellantes.
Had a lesson with Claire and taught her the Ten Commandments and
keeping the sabbath day holy! She's the cutest.

Friday we had Zone Training and interviews! It was great! Sister
Stubben and I did a training on "Why Become Converted?" And talked
about the blessings of conversion.
We did some finding after that.
We met the Purnells, now new investigators, and talked about the
Sacrament and read 3 Nephi 18th. We gave them a restoration pamphlet.
We talked to someone who met with missionaries in the past and had a
Book of Mormon but she skimmed through it and said it didn't feel
right and put it down.. she talked a lot of religion and Satan and the
second coming...
We ate dinner with Minwoo and Megan at a really good Korean place!

Saturday was a busy day! We first met with our new bishop with our
ward mission leader and the North Sisters! I'm really excited about
Bishop Petersen, he is great! His baby girl is due date is today! (My
Sister in laws is tomorrow!!!)
We went to Denny's with Sister Kelley and Sister Hedges. Sister
Stubben and I got the Reese's  peanut butter and chocolate pancakes 😍
We had a lesson set up with Paulette but when she opened the door she
was almost in tears and said her husband does not want her meeting
with us anymore and does not like Mormons. It was so sad.
We stopped by the Franco's and Brother Franco let us in and we ended
up talking about the Plan of Salvation. He has some concerns that is
keeping him from coming back to church. He wants us to start having
like FHE lessons with his 3 year old though 😊
We had a lesson set up with Salif and we knocked and his sister
answered and said he was not home so we left and came back and his
nephew said he wasn't home and then Salif came to the door and he was
home the entire time!! He said he would be at church on Sunday but he
wasn't.
We had a lesson with Brandon and talked to him about some things and
talked about tithing. He went to the youth valentines dance that
night!
A few lessons cancelled.
We had a lesson with the Hammonds about the blessings of conversion.
We went to the Laytons and showed them a Plan of Salvation video. We
were mostly trying to get Jay to listen and pay attention. Ryan was
excited to pass the Sacrament the next day!!

Sunday, Ryan passed the Sacrament!! He was so happy and we were too!
We met a less active and she said she will be at church next Sunday!
We stopped by the Kreugers and they let us in and we taught them the
restoration.
We shared a message from a ensign article to Sister Smith.
Stopped by the Castellanos and I sat there as Sister Stubben talked in
Spanish haha.
We had FHE at the Sollars with ysas and we read a article in the ensign.

Today we are going to eat dinner at Texas Roadhouse with the North Sisters! :)
1. When it is super cold outside!!
2. Zone Training. I'm so awkward in this photo. I hate it hahaha.
3. Emoji!
4. Ignore my face lol
5.
6. When you are sick and you just want to sleep.

That time we got attacked by a dog 🐢

Hello everyone!!

Monday we ate lunch at Fratellis with the North Sisters. We ate dinner
with the Bates. Super cute family.
We had the Book of Mormon class.
And that's about it! haha

Tuesday we had District Meeting. I love District Meeting. Our district
leader does a great job. He's awesome.
We had a lesson with the Hammonds. Brother Hammond said that he had
Sunday off but we didn't see them at church yesterday! He is going to
ask his boss for Sundays off. We showed them the temples are a beacon
video and talked about preparing to go to the temple. We talked about
the importance of prayer and building a relationship with Heavenly
Father and praying as a family.
We met with an investigator named Shirley. We told her a little bit of
what we do as missionaries. We told her about the Book of Mormon and
invited her to read it. We also invited her to come to church.
We tried to do some finding/stop bys and couldn't find any of the
houses! The struggle is real haha.
We ate dinner at the Castellanos house and tried to teach Hermana
Castellanos English. I sat there as my companion taught her πŸ˜‚
We taught Claire the Plan of Salvation. Her mom said she would be
baking and listening at the same time but ended up just listening the
whole time! It was way cool. We invited them to pray as a family.
We had a lesson with the Medinas. We read 3 Nephi 27 and talked about
the gospel of Jesus Christ. Maritza wants to be baptized on her
birthday, April 27th. Esmeralda wants to be baptized on May 6th to
have time to think about it and prepare. Their dad said they should
get baptized on the same day.

Wednesday we had a lesson with Julia. We read 3 Nephi 11. I really
love that chapter. She wants to read the Book of Mormon and come to
church. She said she would probably be baptized when she comes to know
our message is true :)
We talked to Sister Kahler about the importance of prayer and read
some scriptures about praying with faith. We read Ether 12:27 and my
amazing companion said that the things Heavenly Father sees as
strengths might not be what she sees as strengths and it made Sister
Kahler tear up!
We had an awesome lesson with Yves (Eve)! Sister Slusher came with us.
We gave her a creole Book of Mormon. We read 3 Nephi 11 and she loved
it. She liked how at the end of the chapter it talked about sharing
the gospel with others. Yves asked if she needed to take classes to be
baptized!! We told her that we teach lessons and that's kinda like the
classes haha. As we were leaving she asked what chapter we wanted her
to read before our next visit! She is so awesome!!
She sadly did not come to church though :( but hopefully next Sunday!
We met with Salif and we read some of Moroni 7 and he seemed to really
like it. He told us he has a daughter and a fiancΓ© in Togo!
We met with Sister Hallyburton and showed her the After The Storm
video and talked about how Heavenly Father helps us through our
storms. We talked about the importance of prayer.
We ate dinner with Minwoo and Megan. We went to chipotle and Minwoo
got really mad when we paid for ourselves. I wasn't thinking and just
went for it πŸ˜‚ he then made us go next door and get ice cream so that
he can pay for it πŸ˜‚ oh and Megan is a recent convert who goes to
school here in Salisbury. She got baptized in her home ward.
We then ended the night at missionary correlation meeting.
I think on Wednesday I started getting a sinus headache cold thingy. Not good.

Thursday, the usual stuff in the morning - conference call and weekly planning.
We went to Princess Anne.
It was this day that we knocked on a door and a little tiny dog came
running out at us! It was kinda terrifying πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
We stopped by Sister Maybury and talked to her and her boyfriend. They
are both members but super less active. It was an interesting visit
lol.
We met with the Puseys. They are investigators that met with
missionaries in the past. We mostly just got to know them. We gave
them a Book of Mormon and invited them to read it.
We ate dinner at the Taylors. They are seriously goals. The cutest
family everrr.
We stopped by Sister Hankersons and talked about her conversion story.
We invited her to come to church but she didn't come.

Friday morning I had to get more rest so I slept in. We were going to
go to lunch with Sister Kelley and we were almost to her house and she
texted us and said she forgot and that she wasn't home... so we
decided to go to lunch anyways and we found this awesome place called
route 12 and I got a chicken bacon ranch quesadilla and oh my gosh!!
It was the best thing I ever ate!! And a Reese's peanut butter cup
brownie sundae for my year mark! I'll send a picture but I look gross
because I was sick so just be aware haha.
We met with Sister Hall and Chris. Their puppy is getting big!
We met a new investigator! Her name is paulette and we showed her the
hallelujah video in French. We gave her a Book of Mormon and a
pamphlet in creole to read.
We had a lesson with Sister Russell. She is less active. Mostly just
got to know her. She asked me what is the one thing I love about the
church and I said I love how it is so family oriented and their is
something for everyone and she said she loves that too! We invited her
to read the Book of Mormon.
We read 3 Nephi 11 with Jane and then had dinner with her and her husband.
We taught Claire the gospel of Jesus Christ and used the pepper, soap,
and water object lesson and she loved it. We invited her family to
church and her dad said he will not be there because he is working
nights and her mom said she would drop off Claire and McKenna.

Saturday we had a lot of lessons cancel.
We did meet with Sister Santiago and Megan was with us.
Saturday night the North Sisters had a baptism for Diana :) it was
awesome! She was so happy!
We stopped by the Layton household that night and talked about family
relationships.

Sunday we got a new bishopric! Bishop Hoppes and one of his counselors
got released :(
The new bishop is young with like 4 young kids and a new baby on the
way, due any day now!! He will do great!
Ryan got the priesthood!! He was so happy!!!
We stopped by to say hi to Tiffany and she let us in and she was
asking about our missionary service. We asked her why she thinks there
are so many different religions and she didn't know and she asked us
why we thought so and we started talking about the restoration and
when we got the the apostasy part she asked us if we thought that Gods
authority was back on the earth today and then we went and talked
about Joseph Smith and the priesthood! It was way cool. We gave her a
Book of Mormon and a restoration pamphlet.
We stopped by the spruills and talked to the dad and he has some
interesting beliefs. Their kids are adorable though and Jacob loves me
hahaha.
We had dinner with Sister Rodriquez.
Did some finding and had some short lessons and it was a really long day! Haha.

Today we are going to Dairy Queen !!

Tomorrow we have Zone Conference up in Newark which is like 2 hours
